The phenomenon of high fertility in the Far North
13 thousand people live in Anadyr, and in the maternity ward about 500 children are born every year. In the city there are no more empty buildings and free housing. At this rate, the capital of Chukotka will soon catch up on the quality of life of Moscow.
The city is very "young." Young people or parents walking with children are much more common on the street than single men with a bottle of beer. In each staircase there are several wheelchairs and children's bicycles.
Naturally, there must be a good infrastructure to maintain the parental boom in the city. About her, and will be discussed in this post. Under the cut, there is a story about hospitals, schools, kindergartens, fitness centers (yes, in Anadyr and there are such), houses of pioneers and other social programs ...
Let's start with the hospital - its building is probably the largest in the city. It is new and built specifically for the regional hospital:
For a long time, it was considered the best in the North, until Yakutsk built its medical center, which I have already told about before:
In the hospital there are 3 fully equipped operating rooms, plus a dental operating room (I didn’t even know that there are such):
The rehabilitation chamber, where the operated patient comes to life after anesthesia:
The operating theaters have all the necessary equipment, including anesthesia machines, an artificial kidney, and even some very expensive device for eye surgery. The doctor said that he was standing like all other devices combined, and if we say that this is a Bausch & Lomb Stellaris device, experts will understand (I am not an expert, but I am sure that there are such readers among my readers):
Special bed for burn patients. Under the sheet sand and fan. When the patient lies on this bed, the air is inflated inside, he hovers over the sand and it is not so painful for him to lie:
Remote control. Everything is computerized:
Department for donors:
There are even special heated beds for premature babies:
There is one school in the city, but there are a lot of classes in it. In parallel, the stream can have up to 9 classes, that is, 1A, 1B, 1B, 1G, 1D, 1E, 1ZH, 1Z, 1I:
Now the guys are preparing for a trip to the Presidential Games in Crimea. They will participate for the first time and are very worried:
Already made a form. The teacher gives her only for photographing, when the correspondents arrive, and then collects it back:
If there is only one school in the city, then there are many kindergartens (I think there are five of them):
All of them are repaired:
A small kindergarten for 30 people. There are only 2 groups. For the indigenous (as the Chukchi and the Eskimos are called here) the kindergarten is free:
Beds during quiet hours are pulled out like drawers in the closet:
The famous Anadyr Palace of Children's Art (DDT):
About the Palace of Children's Art in Anadyr should be said separately. It was built in 1974, then it was called the Palace of Pioneers. Funds for the construction of the Palace were collected during the labor operation “Chukotka”, which was conducted by the pioneers of the entire Soviet Union in 1969-1974.
The All-Union operation included labor landings, Saturday and Sunday work at the sponsored collective and state farms, at enterprises. The collected money was transferred to a special account marked “Operation -“ Chukotka ”.
Construction began on February 19, 1972, and on August 24, 1974, the Palace of Pioneers was inaugurated. The four-storey building housed dozens of circles, a movie-concert and sports hall, a winter garden and a chess club, a library. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the pioneer organizations of the Union republics and regions of Russia:
A year ago, DDT was fully repaired and now it glitters with all the new ones inside:
There is the only swimming pool in the city, although it only works in the winter when the heating season begins in the city:
Separate building of the fitness center:
I came here a couple of times. Apparently, fitness in Anadyr is not very popular:
The cinema is the center of attraction for all city life. At first, the townspeople did not like to go to the cinema, especially when they had to pay for the tickets, but gradually they got used to it and now the full hall is going to premiere:
The most noteworthy building of Anadyr is the House of Culture, combined with the museum of local lore. It is built in the shape of a polar bear face:
The museum is interesting and rich in exhibits:
Technically advanced. For example, you can lie on the couch and watch movies about polar bears on a huge screen:
House of Culture:
In Anadyr only two hotels. They are not enough for all visitors, so, for example, I had to rent an apartment.
One hotel is called Anadyr, but locals call it Canadian, since it was built by Canadians according to a Canadian project from Canadian materials. There are even handles on doors in both Canadian and American municipal buildings:
The second is called Chukotka. It is better, but also more expensive. Standard room costs 8 thousand rubles:
But the presidential two-room suite, in which the President of Iceland somehow stayed, costs 28 thousand rubles a day:
True, the number is not in great demand. Hotel staff said they rent it every couple of months:
In general, I already unzipped me in front of Anadyr, but I repeat once again - I really liked the city. This is a living example of the fact that if you take care of the city and create favorable conditions, then the people in it will begin to multiply very hard.
