The easiest way
Let's start with the simplest option. Suppose you purchased a new video card. It is video cards (as well as sound cards) that are among the most “capricious” components of a PC, which in most cases cause difficulties with installing a driver. If you purchased the device not from your hands, but in a specialized store, then a CD with drivers should be included with it. In this case, everything is just plain ugly. You have to insert a disk into the drive of your computer or laptop, wait until it is determined, and then act depending on the situation.
What to do when running autorun
If autorun on your computer is turned on, just wait for a message from the system that will wait for launch permission, and confirm that you want to run the program from the disk. If nothing like this happens, right-click on the disk icon (in “My Computer”) and select “Run program”. All! Further installation will go in the automatic order. Since installing the driver in this way will be possible even for the greenest newbie, everything is as simple as possible.
What to do in the absence of autorun
But it may also happen that there is no trace on the disk at all. Rarely, but it happens. In this case, you can do one of the following methods. First, if you at least understand something in computers, you should remember that executable files have the .exe or .bat extension. However, there are variants .ini. In a word, just go to the driver folder and find something like “Setup.exe”. Most likely, this is how you run the installation. But how to install the driver if the disk architecture is too messy and you cannot find anything like it?
In this case, right-click on the “My Computer” icon, then select “Properties”, and in the next dialog box, click on “Device Manager”. If in the opened window you see an unidentified device, then this is our “client”. Click on it all the same right-click, and then select "Update drivers". A dialog box opens in which you will need to click on the "Run search on this computer" line. You indicate to the system the disk that came with the device and wait for the search results. We hope that in our article you learned how to install a sound driver and other device drivers.
