High atmospheric pressure - an excuse for panic attacks?

Above 762 mm of mercury is a high atmospheric pressure, and below 758 mm, respectively, a low pressure. The maximum pressure at sea level is fixed at 808.7 mm and the minimum pressure at 684 mm.

At a global scale, atmospheric pressureuniformly varies from the equator to the poles. The areas of the lowest pressure are the equatorial region and 60-65 degrees south and north latitude. And the highest is 30-35 degrees of latitude and both poles. In addition, over the cold continents, every winter there is a stable high atmospheric pressure.

Atmospheric pressure also varies with the time of day. Its peaks occur at 9-10 hours and 21-22 hours, and recessions occur at 3-4 in the morning and 15-16 hours.

Influence of high atmospheric pressure on well-being

Sharp changes in atmospheric pressure lead to a deterioration in the health of meteosensitive people. High atmospheric pressure can bring such symptoms:

  • decreased heart rate;
  • lowering of blood pressure;
  • rarer and deeper breathing;
  • slight decrease in hearing and smell;
